Foster Care Form
Thank you for your generous offer to foster animals during the current flood and cyclone crisis.  RSPCA Qld is keen to work with you to provide safe and dry temporary homes for animals needing to be evacuated. Animals may require fostering for 2 – 3 weeks until other housing arrangements can be arranged.

To best match RSPCA animals to foster homes, we need you to complete the following questionnaire.  If a particular animal is deemed suitable for your family and property, RSPCA Qld personnel will contact you to organise short-term foster care of the animal.  Some animals have specific requirements such as 6ft fences, no children under 13 years and/or no other dogs, so please answer the questions as accurately and comprehensively as possible.

Are you prepared for a foster care commitment?

  • The animal will remain the property of the RSPCA.
  • If the animal was available for adoption or pending adoption you may inquire about potentially adopting the animal. (Normal adoption processes will apply).
  • The RSPCA reserves the right to make a follow up call at any time in the future, in order to check on the animal’s progress.
  • The RSPCA reserves the right to remove the animal from the foster placement at any time.
  • If you are unable to keep the foster placement, do not transfer placement to a third party without the consent or direction of the RSPCA.  Please contact the RSPCA and we will find appropriate accommodations for the animal/s.
  • Failure to provide accurate information may result in an inappropriate match that may affect the wellbeing and safety of both the animal and your family.
  • The RSPCA reserves the right to refuse the foster placement of animals to any person.

Thank you for taking the time to complete the following questionnaire. Your answers will help determine the suitability of the animals needing emergency foster care and the home environment. Remember; think carefully as this will possibly be a few weeks commitment.
